Medically assisted death

Do you think medically assisted death should be allowed or not to prevent suffering? When I mean assisted of course I mean assisted by a medical professional such as a doctor and in privacy.

Incidentally a survey on television of over 1000 New Zealand GP’s found that 63% admitted to consciously “speeding up” the death of a terminally ill patient through the medication they where prescribing.

from motor neurone disease.

Animals get humane treatment so hench why not human beings...............

The laws against assisting a suicide are simply another example of moral/religous judgement over logic/reason.

If someone is in alot of pain/is nolonger 'alive' then it is the right and proper to allow it.

It's your life, you should be able to end it on your own terms. Failing that, your spouse should be the one to decide what you would have done, then comes the wishes of your parents.

If they are gonna die either way, theres no reason not to make the death easier and less painful.

I agree, I go to a lot of patients with a long term/terminal illness who have to suffer daily. they should have the right to end their pain and suffering. Think it would let them go peacefully, before the pain is all they and their families remember of their life.
