Something I have been meaning to do for ages. But not sure where to start.

My car has an immobiliser that is activated when you click the fob to lock the central locking (the car is 22 years old so old tech).

The fob is basically fooked so I am contemplating getting an alarm fitted - can I get one that will basically take over the job of immobiliser and central locking with the added alarm stuff or do I need to start from scratch, getting a whole new system fitted??

Might be a silly question but I have zero clues regarding anything alarm based. So any help much appreciated...

You should be able to get a kit to add to it but you're best off taking to someone who knows their stuff and let them rip out the old stuff and put some up to date security in the car.

Is the current system factory fitted or aftermarket?

If it's aftermarket, it might be worth mentioning to anyone you ask for a price, as it could affect how much hassle the job is to do.
