Hi all,

I'm due to have a full knee replacement later this year. I've been advised to buy an exercise bike, but I wouldn't know where to start in choosing one.

Is there such a thing as a good one in the £200-£300 range?

Reebok ZR8? Is this any good? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0093LTDDC/ref...

Appreciate any help, though I would rather not spend thousands on one. :-)

That looks a lot like a rebranded version of one we've had kicking round for over 10 years and I'd say it's fine

The missus uses it mainly and clearly as a hardcore all weather cyclist it's beneath my contempt but I do get utility from it half a dozen times each winter when I fear black ice

Ours has the same bars but different display that allows you to balance an iPad which she uses to watch the thorn birds and I use for workout videos, this ability alone would prob be my decider

Good luck

I was in same boat as you..broke my hip 6 weeks ago...i went for a spin bike in the end..more sturdy..simple to set up..found a company called JLL Fitness.
Heart rate monitor..distance...odometer etc..ive been using it 3 weeks and I believe more value for money.

Have you already got a bike? If so, a turbo trainer would be an option instead of having a full exercise bike taking up room.

I prefer recumbent exercise bicycles - a more comfy position for sitting and you can more easily play with your tablet or phone. Or read a book.

This.
Get a smart trainer and sign up to zwift
Thirded. Turbo & Zwift make indoor workouts much, much more interesting and involved.

Fourthed smile

Much, much better idea and far more engaging than a standalone exercise bike.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I have a small spot in a room where I reckon I can locate an exercise bike so that's why the upright type appeals.

I do have a bike and turbo trainer which I'll have room for at work, but I would like to set something up at home, but am short of space.

Appreciate any more advice on that type of exercise bike. smile

Might want to investigate fold up gym bikes then eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultrasport-F-Bike-200B-Ex...

I wouldn't worry too much about the functionality. For instance, my timer/speedometer/heart monitor unit ran out of battery power about 2 years ago. I just use it to rest my tablet on. biggrin
