Mclaren paint defect?
Discussion
hi, I have a Mclaren that is at the end of its 3 year manufacturers warranty, as its in for a service the dealer and I had a good look around the car and put it in for some warranty repairs, addressing minor things mainly.
However, one thing thats bugged me since I bought it is what appears to be fingerprints on the carbon fibre door, under the lacquer.
Im positive it happened at the factory when it was first built, but Im in a little dispute with Mclaren over it.
Does anyone know an independent coating expert that could assess the panel and tell me for sure if its indeed under the original factory lacquer or if there has been a repair at some point afterwards?

Not sure where you are based but could try giving Paul at Autocurators a call as he is a paintwork specialist - www.autocurators.com
He is based near Basingstoke.

Take a good photo or two from multiple angles in good daylight of the problem and post it on Detailingworld, the planet's biggest detailing forum for pros and (very) keen amateurs. Someone from the crowdsource will give you a good answer or pass you onto a known authority on such stuff.
