Been having this problem for about 12 months now.
Basically every so often I get a bit of buildup of mucus in the throat so I have to cough quite a bit mid conversation. It is intermittent and I cannot link it to any weather, food or environment.
There are no other symptoms like a runny nose etc
I suspected it might be an allergy of some sort which is causing a mild reaction.
I went to the Dr about 6 months in and he said to try anti histamine tablets for a month - other than that not much else we can do.
I then had about 6 months of living with it.
I went to the Dr again this week and was seen by another person - she said that as I cannot link it to any specific allergy then she is reluctant to send me for allergy testing. She again said I could try anti histamines.
Basically the view of the Dr's is that I can just keep buying and taking tablets forever - no ideal from my POV.
I can see that you can pay to get an allergy test and I may do this just to rule something out that I have not picked up on.
If it is not an allergy what else could it be? Both Dr's looked down my throat and have appeared to rule out anything 'serious'.
