I've had my 718 Cayman for about 2 weeks and the only annoyance is a rattling of the passenger seat belt against the passenger seat.

Anyone else have this issue? Any remedies?

Also, for interest, I've got the ventilated seats which have been fantastic in the hot weather. Definitely not just a Dubai option

Against the seat? My 981 rattles against the inside of the pillar. It is deeply annoying. I've found if I slide the plastic thing up as high as it'll go it holds the seatbelt away from the plastic just enough to stop it hitting. The next time someone uses it it'll probably move again, but I'm fortunate enough to not have many friends, so this is rarely an issue.

Seems to be a design fault experienced it on both current 718 and previous 981 the easiest way I found to sort it always keep it "fasten or plugged in" since discovered thats also what my local OPC does

Yep. Just keep it plugged in.

Sad that a known 'issue' has not been addressed as part of a redesign/new model designation.

I blame the uneven roads.

Had this problem with several cars before, including my old 987.

rather than having to leave the seatbelt buckled up and under tension I used a black sticky back felt pad on the seat belt mechanism to prevent it rubbing?

Not sure if it would help in your case...

Does it damage or mark the interior in any way?

Solves it for me.

On my 981, I move the buckle all the way to the top and point the metal part upwards (towards the car roof). The belt tension alone holds it in this position and stops any movement. Well, until someone uses the passenger seat belt!
