Five people clubbed together and bought him one pair of socks? I bet he feels loved!
Perhaps they don't have much. I've been in financial situations in the past where gifts were a real stretch. Thankfully my family doesn't measure how much I love them by how much I spent. Also it may have been an additional 'quirky' gift by the looks of things?

thats right, forget the money, its the personal touch of a poorly printed birthday message that really matters. Also it may have been an additional 'quirky' gift by the looks of things?

I would suggest that Richard and Sarah are married and the other three are their children... (or cats/dogs/hamsters). Sarah is the only one who has bought the gift for her dad, and just put everyone else's name on the card. Of course, that might not be the only gift he has received, but if he is anything like my dad, he won't want more than a pair of socks anyway...

Can't people just be happy that someone, somewhere, was thinking of them?
