Sony RX100 M4 issue
Discussion
Has anyone with an RX100 experienced this before?
My RX100 has been randomly losing power. Either when I come to it I can't get it to turn on, or it simply dies in my hands with the lens out. Its not shutting down, its more like someone pulling the plug.
I couldn't figure it out at first but then noticed it would happen frequently when attached to my Gorilla pod. Then I figured out it happens when there is a lever type moment applied to the tripod mount, mostly in a particular plane. If there is a moment fore or aft (i.e. in-line with the lens) then I can repeatedly get the thing to die. Sometimes I can get it to power back on by wiggling at the mount. Normally though it requires the battery be removed and reinserted.
So I guess something inside is shorting out when a bit of lateral torque is applied to the tripod mount. Could be a dodgy solder joint or something. I always have something attached via the mount, if not my gorilla pod, then my sling strap so its pretty annoying fault to have!
Where can I get this checked out and fixed? Its out of warranty so I am not expecting a free-fix, but are there any reputable places to send it? I may just have to live with it mind, if its a duff joint on a PCB it may never be found.

If all else fails, I know someone who used this company to fix a Sony DSLR.
He was very pleased with the service and price.
