Went to test drive a Sagaris and a Noble, but the Noble demo was having some work done on it.
Sagaris was ok, but interior quality not great.

Preferred the interior of the Noble, very simple, race like, not pretentious but seems well bolted together. Even the doors had a nice clunk!!
Now I just need to drive it which will be next week.

I was hoping the build quality would put me off but was pleasantly suprised. Now I'm hoping it does'nt drive as well as I've heard or there is going to be a very big hole in my finances

Not in the club yet!

I'm sure this has been done before, but am I correct in saying the differences between a 3 and a 3R are

6 speed
lsd
front lights
alloys
leather

Quite a difference in price. Can find a 3 for £37ishk but the 3Rs are £42k+
2.5s are more of 'a bargain'. £33k buys a nice one.

Decisions, decisions....

Yes, plus improved soundproofing.

Er GTO3s can have 6spd + LSD. The extra leather is only a couple of panels on the dashboard, steering wheel and gear surround. As mentioend above you also get more sound deadening in a 3R (for big girls blouses .

By the same token, there are also 3Rs out there with only the 5 speed box and no LSD. Pay attention when picking a car 007!

Hi guys thanks for the input so far.

If you were starting from scratch, would you save £5k and buy the 3 or go for the 3R?

Also, dealer is getting a 2004,one owner 10k tit car with track day sump. Priced £43k, sound reasonable?

..absolutely, being a tit man I'd always go for the tit car! :-)

But seriously...
3 or 3R is your call - me, I don't like the front lights on a 2.5 or 3 so would avoid it - but that's me - you might love 'em!

£43K sounds about right as a dealer price so long as it has a 6-speed box, a/c and comes with a full 12 month dealer warranty.

You could check the thread above called going gone or something. I would assume that that could be robp's car. Could be worth a chat??

Why am I geeking out on here when the suns out and my Noble is out on the drive.

Bye, I'm going

Yes, think it is Robs car.

AMG, yeah partial to a bit of t&a myself.
I prefer the look of the R myself, lights and the alloys.

Sorry about so many questions but whats the Noble like in the wet?

Many thanks guys

Any car with Bridgestone SO3's is pretty dam amazing in the wet all things considered.

My favourite trick is sailing past Scooby and EVO V/VI/VIIs at a track when it's chucking it down on the track - they can't quite believe it!

However, be warned. It's a 340bhp/320lb/ft car with two fat rear wheels and a LSD, without ESP or anything else.

Consequently you can't just "plant" your right foot or hit the brake pedal like you could in a EVO as there are no tricks to sort it out for you.

However, if you treat it with the respect that it deserves, you'll have a hoot (indeed sometimes I actually perfer driving it on a wet track - you can have even more sideways fun! )

I picked up my car in the wet and it rained all the time for the 1st 100 miles. But in hindsight it was a blessing in disguise as I soon realised just how much respect the right pedal needs. It is very easy to loose the back in the wet but still a thrilling drive!!

I actually hope it rains on my next trackday as it will be a great learner. (and cheaper on tyres)

If you have the money, and the specs are otherwise the same, I'd go for the newer car.

Of course 5k is a lot of track days
