This stupid "trend" has got to the point of ridiculousness and idiocy.

I can agree to that letting your kids keeps them active but:

letting them taking their crappy Halfords bikes and wear the generic nike trackies and pouch while dragging their hands on the road at 11:30 at night and SHOUTING VERY LOUDLY and recording each other right now?

And my own colleague was harrassed by these youths during broad daylight and had his wife's arse slapped by a boy no older than fourteen?

I can only imagine they are doing drugs too, as I frequently see this retarded race of low IQ children sitting on a park bench surrounded by numerous cans of Smirnoff puffing away with that stench. I can only imagine the safer bunch use e cigarettes or Marlboros to impress the 12 year old pre puberscent girls in sports bras.

Modern day yobbos/scum.

Yet always do a runner when they see a police car.

I live in a reasonably affluent area, I didn't have this problem until 6 or so months ago... luckily I am moving anyway.
But I doubt things will change.

Haven't kids always done wheelies on bikes?

I used to wheelie my BMX bikes quite a lot... then my parents bought me a 50cc Honda dirt bike when I was 7, and that totally cemented my wheelie career. I could pull 12-o'clock whoppers all the way through the 3 gears and hold it there for as long as I had the road to do so, all whilst still in primary school.

Then I graduated to Fireblades and ZX10R's, which made pulling huge 3rd gear wheelies somewhat more dangerous, but ultimately massively satisfying.

A wheelie is practically a public service and should be carried out at every opportunity.

Like the medieval knights rearing their trusty horses up onto their hind legs in the middle of the town to impress all the young buxom maidens.

Seen it quite a lot in Bromley of late, coincided with the Easter holidays and now half term. It does seem to have increased. Trouble is, they're all without helmets, and riding into traffic and at cars because they know people will avoid them. Presumably at some point one of them is going to get run over and there will be a fuss. I am also concerned about one of them crashing into my car and damaging it and buggering off.

Sounds pretty similar to how I remember the mining areas around here in the 1970s to be honest. Except they are out later and filming each other now. Parkas instead of hoodies maybe. Slags still slags though, just that back then the mums-to-be used to mysteriously "go away" for a few months. Now they just use it to get on Jeremy Kyle.

Big problem in Chapeltown in Leeds on the A61 especially 8-9 am and 5-6 pm, kids riding bikes in circles, curb to curb, no interest in whether there are cars coming or not and apparently wanting to have an accident.

I have to admit as a kid I loved popping some wheelies but we never used it as an intimidation..... nowadays these scrotes are slapping middle aged women's arses and doing weed aged 11 [story in the OP] .

Also - your story made me chuckle biggrin

Same here, grew up with road bikes in the 70s before the Raleigh Grifter came out so can't wheelie for more than about three feet. Got into mountain biking in the early 90s and still riding my trusty 98 Kona but these days it's on skinny road tyres because I'm an old fart.
