Modern, sporty, hard-top convertible with 4 seats

Somebody I know wants to get rid of their two cars (soft top convertible and family type car) and get something quick with 4 seats and a folding hard top - and sporty / fast is good. The rear seats have to be there, but they will be occasional use.

I'm not sure of budget but we're not talking cheap bangers - so tens of thousands.

Any ideas? I'm not sure what's around in this category.

BMW 4 series? 430i/435i should be quick, they are a bit boaty however that seems to come with cars in this category.

Infiniti G37, bit different and a V6. Not as nice interior as the BM though.

Mercedes C or E class, possibly most expensive if going for the newest shape.

Forgot about the S3, new convertible looks nice.
EDIT: Soft top only on the S3.
