k
back on a bike after many years.
needed something to do everything so bought a Rockhopper. 2017 (29er)
Great bike by the way, rolls fast on the flat stuff and canal paths, and competent enuff in the mud too.
Off on a road and off road 3 dayer into oxfordshire next weekend and am dreading a sore arse.
Its fine for my shorter trips, 20-25miles, but get a real ache in the chhekbones on the longer ones (30-40miles)
standard saddle they come with.........am i wasting my hard earned going for a gel one ? and if not, any recommendations ?? doing approx 130 miles over three days.
Same day as i go, my mate in summit county (colorado) is cycling to missoula Montana for a party.....1200 fe**kin miles

:
Thanks lads

Good quality padded shorts if you don't already have some.
It could be you have a saddle not of a correct size for your sit-bones. Plenty of guides online to assist working that out, or specialised do a saddle fit service.
I'd go for one with a pressure relief channel so to keep the meat and veg happy.
