For reasons known only to the internet I cannot access RS246 forum at the moment, so I'm hoping there are some owners on here and after a few months agonising over my next motor I stuck a deposit down on a RS6 Performance the other day. I have specced the car up (still got time to amend) but want to know if the optional dynamic pack is worth the money (salesman was unsure), be grateful for any informed opinion.

I don't like the dynamic steering, and didn't need the 174 raised speed limit so just went DRC and save money.
DRC is a must in my opinion as car handles better - one of the main attributes of the C7 over previous versions.

DRC was std on all previous DS6 models I think B5@B7 RS4's too.

I was referring to the fact that the C7 handles, not that it has DRC (which previous versions had). The C5 and C6 felt like barges to me while the C7 is surprisingly nimble, and DRC enhances that further by reducing body roll. As I wrote, DRC is a must for me.

Thanks for that, I have come to the conclusion that the car will drive better with DRC and like you, I couldn't care less about top speed. Interested to know how your standard steering feels, the car I spent some hours in had the full pack and I thought the dynamic steering was better than in my RS4, but its a £1200 option so I'd be happy to forego.

Any other options you would recommend?

DRC would be the only must have on a PE for me. Rest is down to choice, and the PE is well equipped.
I actually run my steering in comfort as dynamic feels a bit artificially heavy to me, mind you neither setting is particularly feelsome.
Fab car and surprisingly economical (mine has averaged 23mpg over last 20k and can hit 30 on motorway journey).
Enjoy!

...whereas I prefer the air suspension!

Performance Edition gets some desirable bits as standard (sport exhaust and 21s most importantly) but I very much like the panoramic sunroof.

The general consensus seems to be that there's a little less body roll with DRC, I know it's a big old beast but I'm still at the stage where I can sacrifice a little comfort in the pursuit of fun! I have mixed feelings about the Pan roof, the salesman thinks it's a waste of money and I see his point, but so many owners put it way up the list that I think it must help resale. I'm keeping it sensible, but will probably go DRC, parking advanced (in an effort to protect the alloys) and roof. I like ACC but will be doing fewer motorway miles than ever and that's the only time it has really come into play for me in my current car.

I stuck with the air on my new performance model. I avoided the dynamic pack as i did not want anything to do with active steering!

You can select the DRC on its own without the steering, which is what I now intend to do, hopefully giving me the best of both worlds.Decided to add the roof and parking and that will be the lot I think.

The roof makes what can feel like a very dark cabin feel airy and spacious.

Yes, it does make a difference on resale value. It's an option that a good number of buyers have high on their list.

yes, I am aware of the individual option, I wanted to stick to the air. i've driven both and for the general give and take road use, i found the air better all round.

I'm in my second C7

First was dynamic pack

Latest is dynamic pack plus

Haven't driven a air car...BUT the DRC is awesome these days.

For a big car you really can chuck it about.

I also had a C6 RS6....now that's a car that is crap in the corners

Night and day C6 and C7
