Did the additional starter motor relay yesterday to cure the hot start problems, and since then, the engine is running rough, especially at low revs / part throttle.

What could I have shorted in funbling around doing the mod. I didn't disconnect power and the only thing I unplugged with the connector with the three link wires on it (with the engine running).

I tried disconnecting the ECU today, with no effect.

All the symptoms are the same as I have when my rotro arm as on the way out, but I only cahnges that a couple of thousand miles ago, and I can't have buggered that fiddling with the wiring, can I?

ECU hasnt gone into limp home mode has it?? have you tried resetting it.
Must say I wouldnt have cut into them wires with engine running Mod-wise instructions say to stop engine before cutting wires.
Dont know what else to say but hope you get it sorted.

Alternator appears to be okay - certainly no lights. Possibly cocked up when cutting wire with engine running, but since this only feeds the startr motor (and I got the right wire first time) I can't see what difference it could make.

Perhaps someone can tell me?

Have you tried mailing David(nod-wise), hes the guru with Griffith electrics, hopefully he might be able to help.
looked on a couple of other sites from the other thread that hadve doen these mods on other v8,s taht have suffered the same sticking/to small a current and cant see what you may have harmed.
It seems a pretty easy mod to do, but something has been upset, only wish I could help and new what.
Does the starter feed go to anything else?? Alternator(as said before)/ignition coil??

would thought it more likely you've disturbed something else.

check wiring/air leaks in induction in the areas you were working in.

All my work was done in the passenger footwell.

What's this limp-you-home mode? I like this idea? what does it do, what could have caused it, and more importantly, how do I get rid of it?

I'll mail David Beer offline.
