I'm flying into Glasgow next week for work. Parents have some stuff I need to collect from them in Leeds but to save me the round trip have offered to meet me halfway. Makes sense to have dinner and a catch up before we both head back.

Looking for a recommendation somewhere halfway, doesn't matter whether M6 or A1 side but would prefer not having to get too far off the main route. Was thinking Ambleside originally but that'd kill the whole point of ge exercise with the distance from the M6.

Not a part of the country I'm familiar with so suggestions appreciated. Open to anything under £200 for 3 people so a wide target. Any ideas?

Just off the A66 if they/you are using that route. Had a decent lunch there recently.
