Getting excess water out of hidden areas of bodywork...

My Abarth is driving me a bit mad with retaining water in areas after a wash. It appears to hold loads of water around the wing mirrors, boot lid, fuel cap etc..

Even after leaving it for a few hours after a wash, polish etc.. go out for spin and it leaves a trail of watermarks down the doors and boot lid which drives me mad...

I have seen those Metro-Vac Air Blasters on Polished Bliss as a potential safe method for blasting air into those areas and dispersing water, however they are £100 a pop..

I know that taking the car for a quick spin around the block, removes the excess water, however does anyone have any cheaper/smarter concepts?

A dog dryer on ebay does the exact same thing as the metrovac for 1/2 the price.

I've been using one for the past 5 years and it's still going strong.

p.s yes unfortunately the 500 has so many water traps it's not even funny.

Buy a pet blow drier from Amazon/Ebay.

Other option would be a small air compressor,, downside to that would be it would probably be around the same price, upside would be you can also use it for other things, so its not just a one trick pony.

I feel your pain as this used to bug me with my Abarth 500...

I found once you have finished the final rinse and before drying, open the full filler flap and fold your mirrors in. The latter inclines the mirror bodies to allow water to drain out...although there is always residual behind the mirror mounts.
