Better tasting antibiotics?

Our baby got prescribed 'Flucloxacillin' at the out-of-hours service at the weekend. It's a pink liquid. It smells foul so I tried a drop of it... It's god-awful 
. There's a strong 'mediciney' taste, but it has also been completely overpowered by a horrid sickly-sweet flavouring.
Baby hates it. We have to give it to him 4 times a day for 7 days, but every time results in a hysterical screaming fit. He's not normally fussy and takes liquid paracetamol, etc very happily.
Should we make a GP appointment to try and get something else prescribed? I don't know if we can even change half way through, or we have to stick with it? And will anything else taste better or are they all foul?

Forget bothering the GP, go back to the pharmacy and have a chat with the pharmacist. They "may" have different flavours. The sickly sweet flavours are usually there to mask an unpleasant taste of the drug substance, but it doesn't always work !
Or just stick with it...it's only a few days. Make sure the full course is taken. If the prescription allows (ie it doesn't say take without food), try giving it with a favourite yoghurt immediately after.
