All the bookies ads on this site, should be a chance for a wager on the new popoe. Maybe a 20v twin cam popemobile? So who do you reckon will be new pope?

actually its a good Q. I am not a catholic and usually dont give a toss about the pope but like the olympics or something, you need to be up on the topic when the time comes so you can speak your knowlegable opinion loudly in the pub.

I reckon the next pope won't be from humble beginnings, but that they'll try to bam it up a notch and get something a bit more 21st century.

Jackson, Lewellin-Bowen or even Fiddy cent. All gold low rise bling mobile, generic massive appeal. Really lift the Catholic brand up a bit.

(all said a bit tongue-in-cheek, coming from a half french, half italian Catholic background.....).

It's a straight competition between Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness. Both well known Catholic statesmen and workers for freedom who are widely known and respected by the worlds top leaders.

Next time you are in Leyland..... (unlikely, I know) ....you might take the opportunity to visit the Commercial Vehicle Museum.

Or indeed, you might not.

But therein you can view the Popemobile that was provided for His visit to Britain back in the 1980s.

It is of limited interest, but provides a rare opportunity to sniff the seat on which The Papal Bottom once sat.

Curiously, if that's the Rangey, we were discussing it last night. Apparently it was for sale in Cardiff for £8K at one stage, and then appeared as a centrepiece in a bar (?) in California....

Ah, the Merc 300d Limousine. My father had a '59 model, not the Landaulette as per the Pope, just the basic(!) pillarless limo.
He used to take my mother shopping in it, along with me and my two brothers, pushchair, shopping bag. People must have thought she was Royalty...
