Crit'Air Clean Air Stickers for Driving in France

Do we need this? Is this now mandatory on the driving route down to Le Mans? If so I'm to late in buying one.

The information to hand is slightly confusing, is it just restricted to the nominated cities or does it include the road down to Le Mans or the whole of France.

Knowing the French police its going to be round up GB plated cars, herd them into a field and then driven in little blue vans to the nearest cash point to extract our hard earned money!

It's only the cities (Paris, Lyon and Grenoble), so no need unless you plan to visit those, but if you'd apply for one now, you'd get an email you can print out with a temporary certificate.
