Hi,

I’m getting a little tired of my intermittent boot release. Sometimes it works fine, other times not at all. Seems completely random. I’ve tried new electrical connectors on the solenoid, tried a new solenoid, tested the button and that works ok. So does anyone have a wiring diagram for a Griffith (500 if that matters) showing the dashboard and the rear of the car?

For example, where the boot released earthed?

Many thanks,

Dan

Is that a part of a late Griffith wiring diagram? Been after one for ages now

Boot lock solenoid I suspect earths with rear lamps and fuel pump behind the fuel tank. Feed comes down the N/S and there is a block connector in the B post under the flap for the door lock. That's how it is on mine anyway, and its a yellow '99 500 as well so must be the same !

Yes, that's the plan for tonight. Investigate the connections in this connector. I'm hoping that's the problem.

I'm also hoping I can actually get to this flap of carpet. I have Lotus seats and the passenger side is fixed, so it won't slide forwards, and there's a rear cage, which might impede access!

Fixed it. It seemed to be a dodgy connection in the plug in behind the carpet, so good call on that one. Strangely it also fixed my starting issue where it would sometimes stall after starting. Perhaps there was also a dodgy connection to the fuel pump?

The carpet flap is a bit of a pain to get to with a roll cage though!!
