First time out in F10 M5 at Silverstone.
A good end to Terrible day.. was soaking all day, got a puncture on 3rd wet lap and waited all day for a new tyre, but by the time it arrived the track was dry.

Sorry about the radio....didn't realise it was on until I took my helmet off smile

https://youtu.be/Y0tNuM8LrSU

It's a heavy big car but think I got the hang of it in the last 5 minutes. The brakes held up better than any of my previous M cars

A remap next - DMS or Evolve ?

Both companies offer a good remap & service. My preference due to having used them for close to 15yrs is DMS & i organised a group buy with them for some M5/6/GC's a couple of years back. Think we did 8 in total.

Thanks for the feedback. what were the gains you got at DMS?

Spoken to both companies.. Have to say I was impressed by Martin at DMS, but DMS costs 20% more, both offer about the same power...

That looked fun. I've never considered taking the M5 on track, maybe if my next trackday is wet, I'll use the M5 instead.

I went Stage 1 initially & the uplift was to around 670bhp & 600lbs.ft (my car was just over 600bhp stock), then Rob took my car in for a week to finalise development of the Stage 2 & the outputs rose to 748bhp & 700lbs.ft. No other mechanical performance mods on my car, although i did upgrade the pads & springs.

If you mention Paul & my forum ID to any of the guys down there, they'll look after you.

Martin has just enhanced my FFRR.

They're epic on track & hide their weight extremely well.

My last 2 dayer at Spa i was lapping within a second of the magical 3min mark & that was in October, was wet-damp with only a few dry laps & even sleet & snow at times.

Wow...148hp increase is seriously impressive! I think i am sold on DMS now. Thanks!

Can you tell me what springs and pads you fitted... the pedal goes long quickly, but I thought the brakes actually held up pretty well considering the weight and speed...(157 indicated at SIlverstone is about 20mph up in the E60!)

FFRR = FullFatRangeRover ?

Sorry for the delay, was away over the weekend.

Spring were H&R Sports & pads were Pagid RS29's. Drop from the springs is around 25-30mm all round so extra care needed near front kerbs, speed bumps & level crossings, but they work well with the stock suspension & reduce roll on track.

RS29's are epic & transform on road & on track braking whilst also out lasting the OEM pads by at least 2:1.

Yes, Full Fat Range Rover.

An awful lot more than just a tune on that car though. Also a well regarded outfit though.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences with the car. Sounds like i want Pagids smile

I guess when you fitted the springs, you did an alignment too...such a drop will give you more camber which would help i guess....did you align back to BMW spec toe and camber or something more exotic.......? and finally who fitted the springs for you and what was the cost?

Thanks again!

The springs & pads were fitted at a local Indy to me as i'd never go to a Main Dealer for what i regard as consumables, just routine servicing & warranty work. I can't remember the individual cost for the fitting of the springs, but would have been no more than about £100-150 as the total bill was only £300 & that included the fitting of new pads all round (fitting only as i supplied the pads).

Not long after my M5 had the Sports Springs fitted i needed new front tyres so got the alignment adjusted on one of those fancy Hunter 4 wheel laser thingies. Had it adjusted back to the stock settings for the car.
