M96/97 oil question

Another oil thread, but a very specific one!
Before my trip to Le Mans and a following France round trip (2000+ miles in total) I need to do an oil service/minor inspection on my 997 C2 3.6.
The last major inspection has been done only 10 months ago, but the car did 20k miles since!
I got all the parts for the job ready, including a iCarsoft Por II (will report on my readers car thread once I have done it) but the Motul X-Cess 5W40 I ordered will not arrive in time

I could either buy the Motul at a local store for double the price what I paid on the internet (I'm really not a Cheap Charlie but when a big chain charges double the internet price (again big internet store) I can't help but feeling ripped off) or I could get Mobil Super 3000 X1 5W-40 locally for a decent price locally (same price I paid for the Motul online).

The Mobil 3000 is highly rated by Revolution Porsche specialist, in fact they state that it is the best oil in their experience for "worn in" engines. (http://www.revolution-porsche.co.uk/news/why-is-mobil-oil-the-best-choice-for-your-porsche)
But the Mobil 3000 is "only" a HC oil whereas the Motul is a proper fully synthetic one.
The Motul is highly rated by LN engineering as it's got the best Zn and P levels of all Porsche A40 rated engine oils.

I prefer the Motul to the Mobil 3000, but what really itches me is to pay a vastly inflated price.
The last oil change (by a reputable workshop) has been done with fully synthetic 5W-40 of unknown origin and has not used any oil according to the previous owner. It certainly has not used any oil in the past 1'300 miles I have owned and driven it.

So, what would you do? Go for the Mobil super 3000 or the overpriced Motul?

You're going to get a flurry of replies suggesting all sorts of stuff, so I'll begin.

How about Shell Helix Ultra 5w40? The silver bottle stuff. Only because its slightly cheaper than the Mobil you mention and presumably at least the quality.

I won't discuss brand, but if you don't use fully syntetic oil everytime in a modern Porsche, you are barking mad.

Well, since the Motul I ordered online still didn't arrive and I plan to do the oil change tomorrow morning, I bit the bullet and bought the same Motul at a big local franchise for double what I ordered it on the internet....

Hope the Porsche acknowledges what I all do for it
