Hi all - I have a (new to me) A45 in white. It's only 9 months old, 2000 miles, but it was a dealer demo and the paint is a bit swirly. I can live with it for now on the bodywork as being white it doesn't show too much. However the black plastic pillars are really swirly and look awful.

Any ideas how I can rectify them, or someone I could take it to for a reasonable amount of money to sort out ! (I'm in Surrey)

Thanks smile

Are the trims gloss or textured matt? If gloss, you should be able to treat them the same as normal paintwork and just give them a good polish.

The final finish on these trims are incredibly soft so pick up defects very very easily.

They can be polished easily by machine to a decent standard. I'd also recommend a ceramic type coating after polishing to help protect them going forward - a detailer local to you shouldn't charge you much to sort them out and it doesn't take long.

cheers

Hi guys - they're gloss plastic, but I'd be too nervous of doing anything to them other than a light hand polish. I'll try to find a local detailer who I trust!

What do you mean by a Ceramic coating ?

Thx
