Recommendations for Delivery Vehicle Routing S/W
Discussion
Does anyone have a recommendation for delivery vehicle route planning software which has an programmatic API that I can integrate with? Currently replacing a CRM/Factory Production system for a client and the deliveries are all scheduled by a man with a bit of A3 paper. They have a fleet of ten vehicles which do between 1 and 4 drops per day from a single base and back again the same day. I've looked at Truckstops and looked in to the Google APIs and rolling my own logic, but wondering what other businesses use for fleets of that size which is relatively low cost.
Kind of. Telematics is more to do with remote monitoring of vehicles. The client I'm working has access to Fleetmatics for some of the vehicles which gives me alerts for things like engine start / stop, if the vehicle is idling, where it is, and so on.
What I'm looking for is a way to automate the planning of routes for the drivers in the most efficient way possible based on the loads for that week.

Niiiice. Thankyou.
Roadrunner will do that. www.roadtech.co.uk Used to be modular so you could pick which bits of it you want. Mandata too but that's really aimed at large outfits with warehousing, large fleets etc.
