Running a C6 RS6 out of a warranty - Financial Suicide?

I am really tempted by one of these, but would be running one out of warranty. I'd be looking at a 40-50k mile car, £26k. Any horror stories to consider?

If you look on RS246.com there are some horror stories, but the recognised failures are all out there now, so there are fixes for them. Things like coolant pipes, rubber washer that's an engine out job, and more.

There are plenty out there that have had these common faults done, and plenty that haven't.

I am aware of the oil seal and pipe issue - I believe that Unit 20 can cut out the rotten pipes and replace with new ones while the engine is in situ.

They just seem a bargain at the moment. Leggy F10's are still a little more, and lower mileage F10's are still around the £30k mark. RS6's seem to be holding their value as well at the moment....
