Looking at 2014 cars, lifting gear is obviously one of them. Anything else/
Also what sort of wiggle room do you reckon dealers have (I know there are a number of variables such as how much they bought it for etc but wondered what people were bid as trade ins vs forecourt price).

Any tips gladly appreciated!

Lift has issues and some thing else to go wrong, one mans must have is another mans hassle.

All options are personal when buying, I would want PDSL, 35 watt xenons, buckets, with Carbon trim and leather on a car with steel disks.

The next poster might one 18 way electric seats in black and PCCB's

I would rather a car with factory fit engine over a failed/recalled engine car with a dealer fit new engine.

And I would ask for a 4 year warranty like the new owners got, as the car is overs and the org owners got 4 years, I would also want 4 years if buying a car at overs from an OPC. worth a punt over a discount as no ones going to touch these cars out of warranty.

so you wouldn't want a car with the latest spec (G) engine then ? hmmm...

you're spot on tho - one mans ideal spec can differ from the next smile

Having had my GT3 only recently, its hard to find the right spec with the right colour and mileage. I wanted one from a OPC for piece of mind and ended up getting a 2014 car with 4000 miles at a good price with the extra 2 year OPC warranty. They usually top it up from the date the original warranty is due to expire too, so my cars was due to expire Jan 2018 so got warranty till Jan 2020 which is a result. The spec I ended up getting was pretty decent:

White with black wheels - look great on a white car IMO
Upgraded lights in black - again as above, how much better then standard lights I have no idea
Painted headlamp washers - Nice but wouldn't spec them from new
Satnav- A must in my opinion for resale
Bluetooth and DAB - As above
Sound package Plus - Cant compare to the original system so cant say
Auto dimming mirrors and auto wipers - Handy as I drive it a lot
Homelink - waste of money
Cruise control - waste of money
Sports Chrono - Have no use for it to be honest

Things missing from the car I would like? Lifting gear would be nice but after 2 weeks I figured out how to take it everywhere it needs to go and replacement lips are only 140 quid roughly from your OPC. Does give piece of mind with lift tough, you don't need to worry each time you see a speed bump. My car doesn't have the leather dash and after a few weeks it doesn't bother me as much but I would have liked it on a car which sells for so money money, coming from an R8 which is dripping in leather it was a step back biggrin.

It really depends as there is only limited number for sale and trying to tick all the boxes can be hard and expensive. I got a decent deal at my OPC so the lack of lift and leather dash offset that and its a great car and really enjoying it. its a shame as I may have to sell it soon to fund a new project, hopefully prices stay good in next few weeks
