Does anyone know if the river Sarthe is navigable by a smallish cabin cruiser as far asLe Mans? Is there a births or a keyside or anything boaty?

I've no idea if that is the right name for a place you can park a boat laugh

The river is certainly a decent size in Le Mans, but no idea how navigable it is.

Another issue is that is flows down towards the Loire which exits into the Bay of Biscay rather than the Engish Channel so quite a scenic route if you wish to come all the way from the UK by boat.

We looked at hiring a river boat a couple of times for something different.

Found main hire depot in Sable Sur Sarthe, but there were a couple of sites closer to Arnage/Le Mans you could pick up from.

You could certainly navigate and stop in Arnage or Le Mans.

If the venture is actually coming from UK by boat, I have no idea.

Sharing a half decent boat, the costs weren't actually too bad.

The boat in in England at the minute, but is to be relocated to a French river somewhere, hence this train of thought.

The Sarthe at Le Mans is navigable there, but IIRC it is not navigable further downstream before it joins the Loir
