Why is it when I open a new thread it takes me to the last post rather than the first?

I'm a member of several online forums and none of the others do this. It makes sense to enter at the start. No?

I get this sometimes with threads I have never opened before!

It's every new thread for me. Makes the site almost unworkable if the thread is more than a couple of pages long.

Not sure if the tech team monitor this sub forum, but a reply would be good
