If you hear a little tinkle...
Discussion
... under the car, don't ignore it!
I did, and the tinkle was one of the bolts falling off the clutch slave. A few days later and the other bolt worked loose - no clutch!
In fact the pushrod jammed between the cylinder and bellhousing so the clutch was permanently "off". So - no drive either!
Where I ended up I couldn't jack the car up (on a muddy verge) so I had to call the Mrs to tow it round the corner into a layby - after that it only took 10 mins to be back on my way (with only 1 bolt for the drive to work and back home - did OK though).
lucky not to lose the plunger off the end of the slave!!!
So job for tomorrow to fix it up with a second bolt and flush it all.
