Hi Guys,

Just need quick help, just a day before my driving test, I was driving around with my instructor on a learner driver. And another lady hit the back of our car. She accepted her fault straight away. So it was a non fault incident and was low impact.

The very next day I had my driving test and passed it.

I didn't claim any money from the other lady or my instructor for the back pain I was suffering. Since they didn't want to get their insurance companies involved. When I look for insurance, it normally has a question about if I was involved in a non fault incident in the last 5 years.

Do I have to say a yes because I was a learner and that question doesn't mention applied to learner drivers ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Neha

It's pretty simple.

The question is "Have you been involved in a crash in the last 5 years"

If you have, then the answer is yes.

In reality though if you didn't claim on insurance who's to know? Be mindful though that saying 'No' and the lady decides to inform insurance at a later date then it could cause issues.

They should be making a claim for their back pain regardless of how the other two are sorting out there coming together!

I would imagine her details would have been logged on a shared database which insurance companies check since she was the driver and the insurance company would have paid out to her instructor

Exactly- they could use the money from their non existent back pain to buy their first car !
