the wing is the main reason (purely judging the cars visually) I would have a very tough time taking a Gen 2 over a Gen 1 - same goes for the 996 2 vs 1. either an RS wing or the Gen 1, really can't warm to the Gen 2 ones for some reason. And as I don't need the downforce, the wing design is purely a visual consideration (preferred route would be a ducktail or normal extending 911 rear)

The Yanks seem to have a bit of thing for what us Brits and Europeans would see as "oversized" front wheels/tyres on 911's Steve. I seem to recall Neil commenting that they were trailblazers in that field.Clearly after many years and iterations of aircooled 911's and subsequently water cooled 911's too, the factory appeared to follow suit ?
It may be a necessary evil on the race cars, but for a road car it's shocking the amount of grip a 235 section front tyre will generate on a well set up and driven 911.
