Anyone got an official line about what you can/can't take into the circuits and campsites?

Are the rumours of €10 for a pint at the circuit true?

Every year it's the same scare stories, yet when you arrive nothing but a cursory check of the contents.

We have "sufficient" secreted around the T5.

I would expect 7 of 8 euros inc the cup deposit of 1 euro. The 10 seemed to be a cartel. The British guy who sells at the Porsche curves seemed to be a bit better value if he is still there. Take cans and the means to keep them cold

I paid €10 on practice day a week back. The girls running the bar by the paddock were so thick that when I asked for a half, the standard expression in french being "un demi s'il vous plait", they didn't know what I was asking for. So I then said "Une bière s'il vous plait" and got a pint. Handed over €20 euros and got €10 back. The bar 200 metres from the circuit entrance is from memory €6.

It makes the £4/pint at Glastonbury seem really good value, doesn't it?

Arrived today at Garage Vert - inside general enclosure. Searched at entrance no explanation of general or alcohol/ glass. We had limited hidden well and got through no probs.

Last year searches became increasingly through through towards the weekend.

We are camped in Terte Rouge. No problem getting in with boxes of cider and beer. This morning we cycled down to Carrefour (will provide) 3x 5 litre boxes of wine purchased and bought into circuit no problem.

Yes.

Smuggled bottles of wine in last couple of years, but hassle was a pain.

Solution this year... Box wine of wine in rucksack shouldn't be an issue!

Just to completely confuse the issue, the Tertre Rouge security guy who searched our car last night said bottles were fine as long as you are camping & dont bring them trackside....

I can't say I've seen much evidence of sobriety so far.....biggrin

We're in Houx and filled the Rangey with wine bottles (for home) and had absolutely no problem with security.

It's the same crap-shoot as every year.

Some have clearly had issues with cans, let alone bottles but never had more than a camping ticket check entering Bleu Sud. OK, that's outside the circuit but walked in carrying a rucksack for the race start and not even a bag check!
