A4 estate 2009 water leak

A friend asked me today if I had any ideas for the cause of 2" of water in the rear footwell.
My suggestion is blocked scuttle drains or a faulty door membrane. Any Audi experts got any thoughts? (Tame Technician!). BMW is where my expertise lies.

Has the car got a sunroof? Theres a TSB for blocked drains.
