E46 M3 Check your Timing Chain Bolts guys !!!!!!!

Just thought I would advise you folks to check your timing chain tensioner bolts are nice and tight.

Mine worked its way loose in spectacular fashion and sprayed oil all over my manifolds, the subsequent smoke screen looked like something out of James Bond.

New owner here and happy to undertake any preventative maintenance possible. Do you know the recommended torque (if there is one) and are they easily accessible?

had mine done last year.

mine gave way on leaving the Sunday Service at BMW last year. cue huge amounts of smoke all the way home.

one of the cheaper fixes on the M3.
