Any of you lot doing it?

Got a 6.30 am start time here. Yuck! Though saying that, the forecast is scheduled to be pretty hot so an early start time and done by about 10/1030 will be good!

I'm in biggrin We're one of the sponsors though so get to start whenever we like - i.e. between two groups is best.

Plan is to get there for 6ish, so will probably be departing around the same time as you. Beware of bright orange shirts . . .

6am start for me.
As agent says, at least we should get there before the heat of the day.

Just to make it more difficult for myself, I stupidly said that I would do it on a 65 year old bike.
Say hello if you spot my PH jersey. wavey

You'll be glad of the early start by the time you get to Ditchling thumbup

I'll be manning one of the larger feed stops along the route, a little before the Beacon.

Good luck for Sunday - an early start is definitely worth it as it gets so busy later.

It's not the climb, it's the road being completely blocked by people who started before you pushing up!

Yup, second year for us. Our team is a bit bigger this year, one has even flown in from Hong Kong to join us! Looking forward to getting up DB this year. Been training on Box Hill in preparation for it!

I'm doing it - 7.30AM start - thought this wasn't too early but obviously wrong if some are starting at 6.

If they need to, how does everybody get back to London nowadays. Don't the trains refuse bikes ?

Started at that time last year. DB was still not too crowded by the time I got there so you should be OK

Managed to get up DB non-stop - not the fastest ascent but it was good to get to the top! My moving time was 3h:35 but I also managed to hit 81.7 km/h somewhere - fastest ever, I think. Need to find out from Strava where it was.

Top speed: Coldean Road in Brighton, I bet. Straight(ish) steep and with a speed camera that's just asking to be triggered. One of my cycling buddies got 77kmh down there today.
