Recommend Me a Car

I'm 23, have held my licence for 4 years and have done Pass Plus. Budget is around £6k.

Would like something slightly sporty, but reasonable MPG- not less than 35-40 combined. Also would prefer to go for low mileage models (under or around 50k- though I am a bit flexible in this regard).

Not keen on Corsa VXRs, Astra VXRs or Minis. Also think I am going to stay off Audis, BMWs and Mercs due to expensive parts due to them being executive cars.

I have been recommended a Volvo C30 T5 and a Octavia VRS in the past, so any other recommendations like these would be much appreciated.

How much space do you need and how flexible are you on the economy numbers?

Megane R26 and FN2 Civic Type R are both practical hatchbacks with around 200bhp but fall closer to 30mpg rather than your target.
If you can life with something smaller then the Mito and DS3 could be options to consider and both are available with over 150bhp.
