Any of you guys recommend a web site to place an advert for a Fabricator Welder in the West Midlands?
Am I right in thinking that Reed.co.uk is one of the biggest?
I just put into Reed fabricator welder and searched under Birmingham. 66 hits for adverts but tellingly lots of these have fewer than half a dozen applications. Jobcentreplus site is free to use and maybe worth a go.Am I right in thinking that Reed.co.uk is one of the biggest?

Thanks, I did the same... hence I was wondering if there are any other sites my mate could use... He has already tried the jobcentreplus but only had a few inexperienced guys apply.Seems a real skills shortage in this area. He has just lost a couple of guys to retirement... the last guy was 68 and was his best guy, despite his age! Its heavy, hard and skilled work.
Like most trades, competent skilled labour is becoming rare.
We've taken to using agency labour, which if are not up to scratch we just off hire, when we find any decent tradesmen we buy them of the agency or after 12 weeks they're free to leave the agency and start with us for no fee.
