2013 Seat Leon Issue

My wife's car has been showing the error code "ignition lock faulty. Workshop!"

Has anyone seen this issue before and is it a case of going to the Seat garage or can it be fixed with a code reader for example. The car works perfectly regardless of this error.

Does clearing the error code work or does it come back? or haven't you had it scanned?

I used my cheapo ebay code reader but it didn't find anything so couldn't clear it.

Yeh they only tend to scan the engine module I think and this will be central electrics.

needs a VCDS scan.
