996 Turbo suspension question
Discussion
I've just put my 2004 996 Turbo Cab into my local garage to have the front shocks replaced. I was going to do it myself but I need it done quick and I don't have the time. The garage are saying they need to remove the hubs to do this and it would take 4 hours per wheel. I was under the impression it could be done without such a load of dismantling.
Can anyone advise?

According to "101 Projects for your 911 (996 and 997 version)" the shock is held onto the wheel carrier (that the hub) by a long bolt that is integrated into the sway bar drop link, remove the bolt/sway bar link and the shock should be free to be pulled out of the wheel carrier and set on the bench to allow spring removal...
The same book reckons time approx. 8 hours to replace all 4 shocks and springs (ie front and back)
