......it must have dab and a means of streaming from my phone (Spotify, podcasts).

Also needs to have the 7 seat option.

And only the V6 350cdi if diesel. Petrols seem thin on the ground but I'd have one.

Max budget would be around 15k and I can't seem to find one that meets the above criteria. Does such a thing exist?

Oh and it'd be my first merc, had a few BMW 5ers in the past but need the occasional seats in the back so they're out. Is this era of e class a decent and reliable car?

Generally very good, I work in the trade and the only issue we have seen is occasionally they break the air springs on the back. Safe bet and a great way to travel miles.

The only thing that's gone bad that on ours is the panoramic roof leaking. Not cheap to fix correctly.

Petrols rare. Seven seats rare (and the rear seats are occasional use only).

Good family car. Doesn't handle, but didn't expect it to.

Bought one in January. Has all of the above apart from the DAB. We have the extended light package which has been amazing coming from a 330d with halogens. Spacious, 7 seats been useful for journeys with extra small ones. Comfortable on the motorway, not so good round corners, not so good round corner compared to the e91. Fuel consumption also bad round town- but high 40 achievable st reasonable motorway pace.

Thanks chaps.

Competent but a bit dull is the vibe I'm getting then, need to try one I think.

Does the comand system allow you to plug your phone in so at least you can then get DAB etc that way?

Mine has USB and Aux-in (glovebox).
