Went to Brighton Today...
Discussion
Saw a 575, a DB7 and a DB9 parked side by side, and an NSX.
Reckon there was an aircooled VW meet on too, as there were broken-down Beetles and Campers strewn all along the A3, M25 and M23. At one point I think I saw a small cluster of old VWs being escorted by an AA van!

great yarmouth was riddled with automotive porn today too: lambo, ferrari, and about a million billion modified other things. some of which were cool, others of which were less so.
oh yes, and a deeply cool, non lemony, gts blue speed 6. with a very good looking driver. who absolutley, positivley wasnt going the long way round to get baby food.

Interesting way of thinking.
Yes, Brighton has a population consisting almost entirely of gay men, apparently.
That's a bit like avoiding the East End of London because you think it's full of gangsters and escaped convicts...
Mind you, I suppose a bloke robbing you at gunpoint would be preferable to a bloke trying to buy you a drink...
Please tell me you are joing and that - surely - you're not really that insecure!

Was the traffic horrendous? I've been to Brighton three times and every time it's been really busy, taking a hour plus to reach the sea-front after leaving the A27 ![]()
Nice place though
(also free parking and a short stroll along Madiera drive from the east pier)

It was alright actually.
First thing we did was get the A27 down to Worthing, then drove along to Brighton.
On the way back we went the quick way - M23, M25 and on to the A3.
Didn't fancy the A281? Cracking rollercoaster road
Surprised it was bearable though - Brighton on a sunny day is usually gridlocked.lotuslad said:

Oh yes.
That and the A272. Many a summer’s Sunday morning spent hooning from Brighton to Chichester via Petworth, Midhurst and Goodwood on those two roads.

Or go west on the A27 one junction and down Dyke Road

Well after living there 10 years I emerged with my heterosexuality intact
. In fact unless you go up St James Street and into Kemptown you’d never notice the Gay aspect of the place (apart from the Gay Pride parade once a year). If anything, since its got city status Brighton seems to be attracting more of the yob and beer boy culture. I’d rather walk down the street at 11:00 pm on a Saturday trying to dodge a load queens mincing round than a gang of 19 year old plastic gangsters from East Grinstead looking for a row. The place has become a victim of it’s own success IYAM.
