Given the early criticism of the first 7 speed manuals in the 991 how has Porsche changed it for the GTS/ GT3 (in which it gets rave reviews)? And do all manual models now have the updated version?
Thanks

I think the new GTS still runs the 7 speed (albeit updated) box of the 991's, whereas the gt3 runs the R's 6 speed box.

Hi
I was unfortunate enough to have a 2012 Carrera manual. Not a nice experience! Very poor gearbox. I managed to select reverse quite often rather than first on occasion: not a good option at the traffic lights! Sold the car earlier than I wished.
Now the owner of a 2014 Carrera 4S manual, with X51 power upgrade - different animal all together - it's now a useable gearbox, although seventh is strictly for use as a cruising gear for motorways. So, from my experience, Porsche improved the manual immeasurably over the two year period from from 2012 to 2014, at the very least.
