I grew up with red pen correction; this did not "stress" me....any of you? These sort of people are an absolute drain on the world's common sense. Do you have this type of crap or are we cornering the market?

I couldn't get past the title, as I can't believe such trivial dross constitutes news. I'm sick of this crappy sensitivity. You are not teaching anyone if you don't tell them where they are in error. Sometimes people have to try more than once before they understand. Your teacher can't know how to help you if there's no exchange of information: ie, the teacher teaches, then the student lets the teacher know what he/she learned from that. Requires effort on both sides, and there must be some measure of it if it's ever to improve. That's why there are grades. Schools get graded on their quality based on the students performance as well. Not a perfect system, but you need some sort of measure.
The red pen marks are stressful for whom? The students or their idiot parents?
I can't help but feel that all of the PC B.S. brings on discipline problems, school shootings, Etc.
Bring back the switch, from behind the woodshed, and let instructors make corrections in what ever color they have handy, if it's red so be it. What a bunch of cr@p.

I think alot of problems in society can be traced to the abondonment of discipline & intellectual vigour in schools.

My girlfriend's sister is terrible at spelling purely because her teachers view spelling and punctuation as secondary to "what she is trying to say." Her parents made the good point that if the spelling and punctuation were correct they could grade her on what she is saying rather than having to interpret it

Very true. Something is screwing with their heads, and I reckon alot of school staff must have been hitting the turkey twizzlers along with the kids... maybe a Jamie Oliver diet would improve their performance too.
