walking along roads

being in the unfortunate position of no car for the weekend i actually walked somewhere which entailed being on a normal a road for a bit. I got beeped twice as if i shouldnt have been on a road - i take it theres no law against it? its just motorways isnt it u cant walk on?

I often walk on country roads.

Walk facing the traffic

and, given that the road can be narrow, be prepared to go off to the side into the hedge etc.

oh believe me i was when the lorries come past!! was quite an eye opener for someone that drives everywhere how the hell u supposed to get anywhere when theres no room to walk and u live in the middle of nowhere!

we dont ave them buses round ere! maybe the odd horse i could get a lift on!

I try to be equally aware when walking and driving, that when you are turning a blind bend that there is not a pedestrian walking towards you on your side of the road, they wouldnt stand a chance if you were tight on the corner.
