As the car has been standing it's probably the switch.

Mine did that recently - turned out to be oxidised relay terminals. In fact, just unplugging the relay and replacing it was enough to get them working! Cleaned them up properly to be sure.

Thanks for the prompts fedders.
Tony, if it was the switch, would the pods still come up ?
Thought they worked in unison ??

I believe the motor and lights are wired into the switch separately hence the number of wires. Check the wiring diagram. I had a previous wedge where the pods came up but the lights didn't. Playing about with the switch made them pop up and light up. I can't be certain that is your problem but the switch is suspect after standing and they can be opened up and refurbished at home. Take the switch out and test it with a multimeter.

okay. switch has side light switch line, and one that does the pods....therefore that pod one should also operate headlights.
All fuses okay, and put light direct off battery....all good.
Has to be the relay, but infuriatingly the wiring diagram for them does not have bear any resemblance to there bloody layout.....and the number scheme isnt either visible.....or in place.

You have to somehow sit with your back to the dash..hold the diagram in front of you and then lay back in the footwell looking up at the relays...It should then make sense...hehe

The light switch has several contacts inside. When it's switched on, the sidelight contacts may not be making good contact to switch them on but the pod contacts may be working. You should be able to see it in the wiring diagram. It could be the relay but I'd eliminate the switch first.

stripped the switch, has four contacts.....s x live, 2 x swicth lines (sides and pods/head) all working well as i have jumped them to discover oppo.
There are no seperate switch line for pod and head, just side and pod....ergo head must be combined with pod.

Ok. Understood. Therefore it could be relay, wiring or earth. I'm sure you'll find the culprit if you keep searching.
