Real Racing on mobiles and tablets - Anyone else play ?
Discussion
I've been playing it a little recently, I play few games on my phone but felt like trying some racing games.
It's slick, controls very well, and I don't think the business model is too bad (I'd take full price over F2P most of the time, depends what the model is like), I've had no issue having enough money or the coin things to continue playing. If you do need a service and want to get on with it without spending anything, you just set some awful casual game ads going for 2 minutes muted. I'm not sure how pay to win it might get at high ranks online or become too hard to progress later in the career without paying however.
The main problem I have with it though, it's just too damned easy. I can only assume it's because there are so many casual players playing with aids turned on, though some of the opponents are AI too IIRC. You are often having to upgrade the car when I don't really want to, I'm sure I could introduce a bit of challenge by completing a series with an unchanged car. The events to get the free cars require a ridiculous number of races too in just a few days and you're spending all of your money on the upgrades.
It's got me wanting some proper racing again though, which I've not really done since GT5 and various others before that. I've just picked up Project Cars on PC, but I may jump onto RR3 occasionally for a quick race while out and about.
