Litres of Paradise Purple

Would anyone be able to tell me where i might be able to pick up a few litres of Parapise Purple car paint? I have been told the paint is a TVR colour and that the code is R3232 but this won't meen diddly squat to your average garage or Halfords. Any ideas????

Start with TVR specialists and go from there.

I spoke to some guy at TVR blackpool and he was telling me that Paradise Purple was a Pearlesant colour and that they spray the car green before they spray it purple. Whats all that about? I always thought Paradise Purple was just a Metalic colour as it doesn't change colour as you walk around the car. He gave me a number for somewhere in France and told me that it was hugely expensive. I will give a few places a ring that are in Sheffield first and if i don't have any luck ring that place in Bristol.

The correct 'undercoat' colour is indeed a kermit green, so if you are trying to colour match then you'll need to spray green first. However, if you are painting the whole car and you don't need an 'exact' match to paradise purple, then you could use another colour. For example, the bonnet on my car was not undercoated green while the rest of the car was. There's a discernable difference in sunlight, but most times folks wouldn't really notice the difference.

I've a can of the stuff in the garage, but it's maybe only 1/2 a litre. And not sure how you send paint by post!

TVR will certainly be able to supply if you call the factory though.

Once again i have suprised myself at my own stupidity. Can't believe i'm going to attempt to do it myself. The car is already primered in grey. The only thing i need to do now is get my hands on the paint. Of course i'm not respraying my Chimaera which is already a beautifull Cosmos Blue Colour. I'm respraying a piece of **** from the 1970's which is my second car that i'm wanting my friends to drive down to Le Mans in. Two seconds! I'll get the photo!

Well! After a few hours of research. The kermit green was £75 pounds a litre which goes on before the £160 a litre pearl paradise purple goes on. After carefull consideration and being as tight as a ducks ar*se i have decided to save myself around £800 and get 3 litres of Halfords Lamborghini Purple for a hilarious £75 for the lot. I'm so chuffed its untrue. O.k its probably terrible quality but i don't care.

Basically This Colour and before you ask! No i'm not

The paint is green under the purple , as I can see on the front of my car because of some stone chips I have got.

WARNING
If you ever sand the paint off a car for respray, avoid the Belt Sander at all costs! It would appear that it is that fast and abbrasive that it has melted the old paintwork to the bonnet. Which in turn means about two more days work and more wet n dry than a fat lass rolled in flour!
The irony was when i picked up the cheap as chips paint from Halfords my best friend greeted me with. The Do's and Donts of respraying a car.
1. Do Not Use a Bucket when using Wet and Dry (WHOOPS)
2. Preparation is the Key Allow 5 days for completion(Double Drat 24hour rush)
3. Do Not Mask off with Newspaper (Oh God I'm a Cowboy)
etc. etc.
