i know my posts are not very interesting although an engine rebuild has worked its way into my mind (an overdraft)! Am thinking of getting a roadangel with laser detection before they are made contraband, just wondering if anyone knows whether it will work with a heat reflective windscreen (its green at the top) as i'm not sure i trust halfords finest acne bearing salesman!
Best thing to do is call / email them to see, I guess that way you have come back if the unit doesn't work.

I have never had any probs in my last few cars (Boxster / C2 / C4s & Turbo) but the unit wont work in my wifes Vauxhall because of its windcreen type, so worth checking.

Hi Tim,
Our 993 screens with the green top strip aren't heat reflective in the way they mean these days - heat reflective screens have a special coating to reflect more UV - you see them if you wear polarising sunglasses and look at things like Renault Lagunas and such like. They have that oil-on-a-puddle-of-water effect.
No need to worry - your 993 screen will be fine with GPS stuff (i use an iPaq with Tomtom with no problems).

Just spotted on the Halfrauds website that they are having an offer on the RA2 and selling them for £329.99.
I think there are other websites that promise to beat the best price you can find by £10 too so you may be able to get 1 for £319.99!
I have no connection to H'Fords by the way.

I had a new Road Angel in my 993 for about 2 months, it worked ok, but for the reaaalllyy annoying noise at switch-on, and the fact that it's quite difficult to site for rear Laser/Radar guns.
I gave it back to Halfords 'cause it would'nt download from the 'net' properly. Other than that it was fine.

thanks all esp 993sc as i picked one up from halfrauds spottiest teenager on monday night at the cheaper price, apparently monday was the last day of the offer. I have to say that now i have it in the car i'm not so convinced and know why they only let you see them in the glass cabinets!
How when i come round the bend on the A3 before the M25 where the coppers always are is a 2cm strip of laser detector going to warn me of their presence?! I'm still going to get clocked at 90plus and if it does detect them then i'll just slow down which i'd do if i saw them!
However i suppose for town centres where you don't know all the cameras it may make a difference but i think i regret not buying a more basic model.
Anyway thanks for all your help, i'm pleased to say that my fan has been replaced so the car sounds gorgeous
