TVR price increase post new release?

So, what do we think will happen to price of 'old' TVR's after the new release (September/August)?

Personally I'd think they would go up based on the fact the new Gordon Murray designed car will likely attract much welcome attention to the older models being relatively affordable compared to the new one.

What's your thoughts?

Several current and past TVR owners have reckoned this for a while. I've watched the prices on here and on ebay, and whilst good ones are selling, many are now dropping their, shall we say, 'ambitious' asking prices.

I'm not convinced that the new model will send Chimaera prices shooting up, but hey, I passed up the chance of cheap Capri 2.8s when I was younger, and ignored old Minis too.

TVR has had more visibility over this, but there are over 3000 Chimaera cars out there, so they're not exactly rare.

It may I believe tweak a little collector interest that drives up values for the very best and rarest cars.

Low mileage 4.5RR Cerbera in original spec are the type of thing at will make the big jumps.Very best Sag's of course will be up there but are already high, and then the really rare stuff like a Typhon 20k to 30k increase a year easily added.

A 100k baggy Chimaera 400 with no service history and a rusty chassis is going to stay firmly where it is. However again the very best last faired in headlight models may have a little headroom.

Tuscan Vert's are still a good bet for a little rise as collectors realise how rare a fully open late TVR really is

All Cerberas are now going up in price. Doesn't appear to be any sorted ones, even old, for under £20-25k

Tuscan S Mk1 as well would be on my shopping list. STR8Six have a peach of a car 40k! Will sell it no problem though I reckon. OK its the best Mk 1S you are ever going to see but that shows if your sitting on one now you should be very happy

There was one 2 weeks ago in Telford on Autotrader. 1998, Silver, red leather interior. Under £16k. Reg was B8 SSV.

Low mileage (29k) but advisories on last MoT in Oct 2016 including chafed fuel hoses, pas leak and blowing exhaust.

I asked about it, seller said chassis was 'fine' but and hadn't done anything about the exhaust leak. I assume it was a serious sale but it was only on Autotrader a few days and then gone.
