No. of previous owners

So I've seen a car I like from a small dealer on AutoTrader and the advert says it has 2 previous owners. The dealer said the car came in stock this week.

I'm that keen I've done a history check through AutoTrader's site, which came back with the all clear.

Here's the bit that confuses me:

No, not the 2 owners in the space of 2 months, but the last change being nearly 7 years ago. How can that be if it only came to the dealership the other day? Something dodgy going on here?
